My name is
Pauline Nevin. I am the proud mother of two adorable young children, 6 and 4
years old. Originally from Ireland, now living in Spain for over the
last 10 years, I am currently studying a bilingual degree in Primary Teaching at
UNIR, Universidad Internacional de la Rioja. I have been working
for several years as a Language Assistant in public schools in Madrid capital
and also in the small villages on the outskirts of the city. In addition, during the evenings I teach kids
and adults who have difficulties with the English language or who are studying
to pass an official exam either for their business, applying for a job or to receive
their certificate from university. My classes also include people who are interested
in learning a language, for themselves and their children, just to be able to communicate
while travelling to foreign countries.
During my
time as an Assistant, in my tutoring classes and also from the point of view as
a mother, I have come to notice that not all children, or adults for that
matter, learn or see things the same.
Not everyone has the capacity to learn a language or understand the
logic behind math if they can not see the logical use of it or have not put it
into practise in their everyday life where it can be manipulated.
With this Blog,
my aim is to try and simplify teachers and parents search for material or
resources to help children, from a very young age, with mathematics and how to
see it from their perspective using visual aids and games.
Mi nombre es Pauline Nevin. Soy la orgullosa madre de dos niños
adorables de 6 y 4 años. Nací en Irlanda y llevo más de 10 años viviendo en
España. En estos momentos estoy estudiando
un Grado Maestro Primera Bilingüe con UNIR, Universidad Internacional de la
Rioja. He estado trabajando durante estos años como Auxiliar de Conversación en
colegios públicos en el centro de Madrid capital y también en los pueblos pequeños
en las afueras. También, trabajo por las
tardes enseñando niños y adultos que tienen dificultades con la lengua inglesa,
o necesitan aprobar un examen oficial sea por su negocio, presentándose por un
puesto de trabajo o a las personas que les hacen falta el titulo para su grado de
la universidad. También con la gente que
solamente quiere aprender un idioma, para ellos y para sus hijos, para facilitar
la comunicación en los viajes a los países extranjeros.
Con este Blog, mi objetivo es simplificar la material y recursos
que buscan los profesores y padres para ayudar, desde muy pequeños, a los niños
con matemáticas y como verlo de su punto de vista, usando ayuda visual y
juegos.
